Sarajevo:
Blurred Roses Series

The abstract contemporary photography Blurred Roses Series was made in the cemetery Bare in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (Bosna i Hercegovina) in the summer of 2006.

Impressed by the monumentality of Sarajevo's cemeteries the artist had already made studies of them in 2004 when he first came to live for a year in the city.

But by 2006 in his second stay in the city he had begun to think in color and was embarked on a new approach to photography by blurring the whole image to stretch that color.

When he returned to Sarajevo in the summer of 2006 he wanted to try to transpose the ideas of blurred photography, which is decorative in essence, to a city documentatively stark in its details.

The Blurred Roses series found a meeting of concepts documentary and decorative as well as conceptual and abstract.
