The abstract arrangements of the tropical Banana Trees contemporary art photography series is based on a small group of Musa-Basjoo Japanese Fiber Banana Trees in Opatija, Croatia's park Angiolina.
This is an odd series in a style not exactly in the vein of what I have been doing lately, building momentum in a new style that abstracts colors and shapes and twice the Banana Trees Series almost hit the cutting room floor. But I couldn't help liking the series for its purity as well as a sentimental showcase of my own diversity.
The Banana series was a difficult child for me due to some uncontrolled glare and overexposure in places such as undersides of these huge leaves and where they should be something other than shades of dirty purples that is what they unmanageably became. But the series was inspired! Their geometrical symmetry appeals to my intellect and a challenge for complicated order. And I hope you like them as much as I still do.
