Featured Fine Art Photography Series

The color contemporary art photography series made of one day of Karnival in Opatija, Croatia is a small effort for such a big happening.. but I stumbled into it with only a half of a roll of film.
I had known about it and had a vague notion of parades and costumes which seemed a little scary to me and I knew it was happening in the neighboring city of Rijeka and that it moved its location to my own place of residence further down the coast but in truth, coming from a very removed Pacific Northwest of the U.S. I just didn't get the concept of Karnival.
It happens to be huge here on the north coast of the Adriatic Sea not so far away from Venice which I understand to be the home of the festival. Parades indeed last for weeks and now I know.. all of the colorful costumes! It goes to show what a lazy photographer misses when he should know better!
This small series of efforts exists here to be updated as I swear to immerse myself in the next Karnival season.
