Fine Art Contemporary Black and White Photography and Limited Edition Prints of Works by American Photographer Jesse Ross

Grasses Shadows Series, Orting, WA 2008 - scheduled for exhibition throughout 2009 - along with the new images Fern Shadows and Japanese Maple Shadows signify some of the artist's most recent offerings to the world of fine art contemporary black and white photography.
Also scheduled for exhibition in 2009, another new addition to the artist's black and white/grayscale arsenal is the high keyed and highly charged - Starbucks Shadows series...
Survivors from at least two lost bodies of photography work made between 1997 and 2005, collected here, are notables - the very early Cartier-Bresson-esque Stepwalker - tonal rich grayscale and abstract geometric exercises of the Bon Court series - early iconic shadows portraiture evident in Woman in Shadows, Cat with Chair and Clothespin, the Oleander on Canvas Series - culminating in the minimalist Clothespins and finally the Garden Shadows Series 2006.
Eventually taking tangential turns into neo pictorialist/blurred photography style seen in the pictures Mosque, Woman with Seagull and Podcarina Still Life, only recently, after a multi year color jaunt, the artist finds himself returning to black and white as a powerful expressive outlet.
Look out for a new project in a style that is promised to be modern-apocalyptic meets Fellini..!? In the mean time, we hope you'll enjoy these images.
